PDFs added to the folder selected will automatically import to an Imported References group in EndNote.
From the options at the top of the dialogue box, you can also choose to have the files re-named automatically upon import if you wish.
Check the option Enable Automatic Importing and select your folder by browsing.

The bibliographic details of the articles are completed for you where possible.

If importing a folder, you can select to include files in sub-folders and also to create a Group Set into which your files will be added in EndNote.

For each item imported, add PDFs one by one as outlined in “One article”, #5, above.
If it works, you will get a results page with a success message.
Select the folder you wish to save the references to.
Click the “Browse” button to locate the.
Select “EndNote” from the dropdown menu.
Click on the export icon above the search results.
You can select all items on the page using the checkbox at the top of that same column.
Select all articles that you want to export to EndNote using the checkboxes to the left of each article title.
After you finish selecting items in the search results, click on “My Library” on the top right side of the search results page.
The star will turn blue, indicating the item was successfully added to your library.
From the search results list, add items to your “library” by clicking on the star icon underneath the article information.
Follow the prompts to locate and upload the PDF to the item record.
Click on the paperclip icon labeled “Attach files”.
Click the heading to expand the contents. You may need to scroll down, or do a find-in-page.
With the item record open, look for the heading “Attachments”.
#HOW TO GET PDF FILE IN ENDNOTE DOWNLOAD#
Once you download the PDF, switch back to EndNote and navigate to the folder and record for the article using the “My References” menu on the far left of the screen.
We recommend that you not purchase any PDFs before first contacting your librarian for assistance. In some cases Google Scholar links will take you to the publisher’s website where you can purchase the PDF in other cases Google Scholar will take you to the PDF without asking you to pay.
Locating and downloading PDFs from Google Scholar is beyond the scope of this tutorial.
You will need to upload PDFs individually.
The PDF of the article is not included in the export/import process.
If it works, a results page in EndNote will open with a success message.
Select the folder you wish to save the reference to.
Change the “Import Option” to “EndNote Import”.
Click on “Import References” in the submenu.
Switch to EndNote and hover your mouse over the heading “Collect”.
You might want to rename it to something more appropriate than the system generated filename.
Make note of where you saved the file, because you will need to find it in the next step.
In the resulting dialog box, save the resulting.

From the search results page, click on the double quote icon below the article information.
